Star Cinemas announces digital theater system in Hillsboro

The Highland County Press
Star Cinemas has announced the opening of its all-new digital theater system.
The popular Hillsboro theater, located on Harry Sauner Road, has converted its projection system to digital in all but two theaters – and they will be transitioned early next week.
According to co-owner Phil Roberts, the new upgrades include:
• Six theaters of the all-new Christie DLP projectors;
• Six theaters with Dolby 5.1 surround sound; and,
• Two theaters with RealD-3D.
"We are very pleased to announce this new system and upgrade in the overall film experience," Roberts told The Highland County Press. "We invite the community to see their next movie at Star Cinemas and enjoy this great family entertainment venue in Highland County."
Roberts called the shift from film to digital projection "the latest and greatest in movie entertainment."
As an added incentive, the enhanced picture quality that comes with digital projectors will improve the quality when showing films in 3D (three dimensional).
John Fithian of the National Association of Theater Owners said "Digital cinema will be the most important technological transition since the invention of the 'talkies.' Maybe since the invention of the projector."
