Small Government Fire Department Services Revolving Loan Program accepting applications
The Ohio Department of Commerce’s Division of State Fire Marshal opened applications for the 2023 Small Government Fire Department Services Revolving Loan Program. The program was established by the General Assembly to help local governments fund major expenses related to fire department services.
“This program enables local fire and ambulance services' first responders to purchase new emergency vehicles without incurring high-cost financing and imposing financial strain on local taxpayers,” said State Fire Marshal Kevin S. Reardon. “Affordable emergency vehicle purchase programs like ours provides an opportunity for departments to acquire reliable vehicles and make communities safer.”
The revolving loan can be used to purchase major firefighting, rescue or EMS equipment or to construct or renovate fire department buildings. This loan is designed to provide financial assistance to local governments that have limited financial resources to invest in their fire departments.
Online applications are now being accepted on the State Fire Marshal’s website at https://com.ohio.gov/divisions-and-programs/state-fire-marshal/grants/r….
The loan application packet is accompanied by a worksheet guidance document, which will allow applicants to gather all necessary information prior to submitting the application.
