On Aug. 20, Andrew Huffman of Hillsboro, driving a 1997 Dodge, was traveling northbound on North High Street when he failed to stop for a 2001 Ford that was turning left onto Somers Street and was driven by Angela Williams of Hillsboro. Huffman was cited for assured clear distance. Williams and a passenger in her vehicle were transported to Highland District Hospital by the Hillsboro Life Squad.

Karen McBee of Peebles, driving a 2007 Chevrolet, was traveling westbound on East Main Street and struck a 2007 Chevrolet that was stopped in traffic and was driven by Ethel Bursk of Hillsboro. Light damage was received by both vehicles.

The department received a report form a residence in Hillsboro that she had received a check from Resilite Sports Products, Inc. informing her that she had won out of a random drawing from UK and North American Shopper Sweepstakes. The only thing she was to do was to send the tax fee back to them. This is a scam trying to get money from the elderly.
