Hillsboro man faces drug-related charges

The Hillsboro Police Department is investigating a possible mobile meth operation after an arrest Tuesday evening.

Robert Ballein, 42, of Hillsboro was arrested for failure to appear on an outstanding bench warrant from Hillsboro Municipal Court, two indictments for illegal assembly of chemicals for manufacturing drugs, and possession of criminal tools.

Heather Tankersley, 33, of Hillsboro was arrested for obstructing official business.

According to a report from the HPD, Ballein had warrants from both the police and the Highland County Sheriff's Office related to illegal drug activity. He was located Tuesday evening at a Main Street gas station and taken into custody.

The case will be presented to Highland County Prosecutor Anneka Collins.
