Hamilton OSHP Post investigating a fatal pedestrian crash

The Hamilton Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a single vehicle pedestrian crash that occurred on US 42 near Fields Ertel Road in the city of Sharonville, Hamilton County. The crash occurred on May 8 at approximately 9:38 p.m.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a pedestrian, James Quick, 87, of Sharonville, Ohio, was attempting to cross U.S. 42 outside of a marked crosswalk. A 2023 Ford F-150, operated by Steven Pogue, 37, of Montgomery, Ohio, was traveling south on U.S. 42. Quick was struck by Pogue’s vehicle. 

Pogue and his passenger were not injured in the crash.

Quick was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he succumbed to his injuries. 

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by the Sharonville Police Department, Sharonville Fire Department, and Fox Towing.

The crash remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Hamilton Post.
