Today, Governor Mike DeWine and Lt. Governor Jim Tressel kicked off the Heart of Opportunity tour in Cleveland at Rocket Arena.

The statewide tour will celebrate Ohio's place atop CNBC's list of America's Top States for Business and feature regional panel discussions on opportunities to support ongoing economic and workforce success. Cleveland panelists included Ohio Department of Development Director Lydia Mihalik and Team NEO CEO Matt Dolan.

"CNBC named Ohio the number one state for business in 2026," said Governor DeWine.  "We have more jobs filled than ever in our history.  Ohio is the third largest manufacturing state. Unemployment is at an historic low.  And while we are proud of these accomplishments, we will continue to work together to make sure every Ohioan can fulfill their God-given potential."

Lt. Governor Tressel emphasized that in order for every Ohioan to reach their potential, "having access to opportunities and training is critical as we move forward."

“Northeast Ohio continues to demonstrate that it is a region where businesses can succeed, grow, and invest. Throughout his term, Governor DeWine has advanced economic development, supporting businesses and strengthening communities across Ohio,” said Matt Dolan, Team NEO CEO. “We are grateful for his leadership and commitment to our region, and for the lasting impact his work will have on Northeast Ohio’s continued growth and success.”

“Ohio has proven to have the perfect environment for business to move here, expand here, and stay here,” said Governor DeWine. “Youngstown is no different. There are quality, stable jobs right here in Northeast Ohio where Ohioans have the opportunity to reach their God-given potential.”

“No matter where you live in the Buckeye State, there are endless opportunities that give everyone a pathway to reach their full potential,” said Lt. Governor Tressel. “We are traveling across Ohio to make sure all Ohioans know how to take advantage of these opportunities and how to get on their own pathway to success.”

The governor and Lt. governor will make more stops over the next two weeks as they continue the Heart of Opportunity tour.
