Germantown woman struck by train
Troopers from the Lebanon Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol are currently investigating a fatal crash involving a train and a pedestrian. The patrol was called to Beachler Road and Fairy Road at approximately 3:30 p.m. for a female that was struck by a train.
The preliminary investigation showed Jennifer Carswell, 42, of Germantown was walking west on Fairy Street along the railroad tracks. A CSX train was westbound along Fairy Road when Carswell lost her footing and fell into the train. Carswell was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation and the patrol was assisted by Carlisle Police Department, Franklin Police Department, Carlisle Fire, JEMS EMS and the Warren County Coroner.
