The Paint Creek Joint EMS/Fire District responded to a Hudson Road house fire at 4:48 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23.

The Highland County North Joint Fire and Ambulance District also responded, along with the Wayne Township Fire Department of Fayette County. The Red Cross was also at the scene.

Paint Creek Joint EMS/Fire District said that the fire appears to be accidental and was most likely caused by an electrical issue.

No one was at home at the time of the fire, George said, and several family pets were rescued.

The home was a total loss.

"When the first crews got on scene, at the center of the house, where the fire originated, the roof was already collapsing in," George said. "For what was left, the department did a good job."
