Dayton teen killed in two-vehicle crash in Warren County
Troopers from the Lebanon Post are investigating a two-vehicle fatal crash that occurred at the intersection of state Route 73 and Clarksville Road in Wayne Township, Warren County. The crash occurred Tuesday, May 30 at 10:47 a.m.
A preliminary investigation revealed a driver, Anna Irwin, 39, of Dayton, and front seat passenger, a 16-year-old of Dayton, were traveling northbound on Clarksville Road in a 2016 Nissan Quest. Tsegay Woldegergis, 44, of Dallas, Texas, was traveling westbound on state Route 73 operating a 2016 Freightliner tractor-trailer combination. As Woldegergis was going through the intersection, Irwin allegedly failed to yield from the stop sign and struck Woldegergis’ left rear trailer tires.
Irwin was transported by CareFlight to Miami Valley North Hospital with serious injuries. The teen passenger succumbed to fatal injuries at the scene of the crash.
Woldegergis was not injured as a result of the crash.
The Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, Wayne Township Fire Department & EMS and the Ohio Department of Transportation.
The crash remains under investigation.
