A day of mourning for Lt. Randy Reffitt

The Highland County Board of Commissioners, Shane Wilkin, Gary Heatomn and Tom Horst, have declared Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2010 as a countywide day of mourning to remember and  honor the life of Lt. Randy O. Reffitt of the Highland County Sheriff’s Office.
Lt. Reffitt died on August 26, 2010.  
A highly respected law enforcement officer and devoted family man, Lt. Reffitt's public service touched many lives in Highland County.  
The board encourages all county residents to remember Lt. Reffitt and his family in their thoughts and prayers and to acknowledge the dedication and sacrifice made by law enforcement personnel and their families every day in Highland County.
The public is invited to line the funeral procession route following the 11 a.m. funeral service on Tuesday, Aug. 31 at the Hillsboro Church of Christ, 155 West Walnut Street.  
The procession will leave the church traveling north on South West Street, right on West Main, and left on North High to the Hillsboro Cemetery.  
The Hillsboro Fire Department will form an arch over North High Street in front of the old fire station as a tribute to an exemplary law enforcement officer and outstanding citizen of Highland County.
