Batavia man indicted on child pornography charges
A Clermont County grand jury issued an indictment Tuesday, Sept. 24 for Isaac Matthew Carr, 23, of Batavia Township on 17 counts of pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor or impaired person, all felonies of the second degree.
On March 21, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) and Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) forwarded a cyber tip the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office involving an address in Batavia Township, Clermont County, where child pornography was allegedly uploaded.
On April 18, Clermont County Sheriff’s Office detectives executed a search warrant on the residence and identified Carr as the sole suspect allegedly responsible for accessing the materials. Detectives seized various electronics suspected to have been used to upload and view child pornography.
The Hamilton County Regional Electronics and Computer Investigations Unit (RECI) provided the complete forensic downloads from subsequent search warrants of the seized electronics on July 31. The downloaded electronics allegedly yielded videos and images depicting prepubescent children involved in various sexual acts.
Detectives continue to work with NCMEC and ICAC to identify the children allegedly depicted in the materials.
Carr was arrested at his residence by Clermont County deputies without incident.
An indictment is merely a charge and is not evidence of guilt.
