Amelia man sentenced in Clinton County rape case

A 26-year-old Amelia man, Jonathan T. Hall, was sentenced to life in prison, with the possibility of parole after 10 years, at a sentencing hearing held Aug. 11, 2026 in the Clinton County Common Pleas Court.

Hall entered a plea of guilty to one count of rape, a felony of the first degree. Should Hall be released after serving the minimum of 10 years, he will be required to register as a Tier III sex offender, the most serious category under the SORN (Sex Offender Registration and Notification) laws. In addition to this, if released, he will be placed on parole supervision for the remainder of his natural life. 

Hall was indicted by a grand jury in the Clinton County Common Pleas Court in April on four counts of rape, all felonies of the first degree. The indictment came after an investigation was opened in January of this year when a report was made to the Blanchester Police Department. The report was for a sex offense, with the victim being under the age of 10 years old. 

The Blanchester Police Department would like to thank the agencies that assisted in this investigation: Clinton County Children Services, Clermont County Sheriff’s Office and the Cincinnati Police Department Major Offender Unit. Their collaboration was instrumental to getting closure in this case. Blanchester Police Department would also like to thank the Clinton County Prosecutor’s Office for their swift action in this case, pursuing justice for the victim and holding Hall accountable for his actions.
