Tri County Elite AAU girls basketball team earns No. 12 state ranking

A local AAU girls basketball team has reached the top 15 in state rankings, peaking so far at No. 12 in Ohio.
The program, which is named Tri County Elite or TC Elite, is based out of Fayette County and is in its first year with a girls team. The program has previously been a boys program but has branched out this year to the girls side.
TC Elite currently has just the one girls team, which is made up of current sixth graders or Class of 2028. They are coached by JR Lemaster and Larry Scruggs.
The team, which is made up of 10 girls representing six area schools, has traveled all over Ohio to compete. Team members are Kaelyn Brooks (Wilmington), Jo’Lese Harpen (Wilmington), Maliyah White (Jamestown), Kelsie Crowder (Leesburg), Briana Robinette (Miami Trace), Hailey Lemaster (WCH), Eydyn Gibbs (WCH), Kate Miller (WCH), Ella Jordan (Hillsboro) and Taylor-Ann Scruggs (Hillsboro).
According to All American Watchlist-Ohio, the TC Elite team is currently ranked 12th in the state out of 154 registered teams. Rankings can be found on https://mccantsbasketball.com/oh-girls-travel-standings. The rankings are compiled from results and scores through multiple outlets (GBA, Bleacher Republic, Ohio Basketball tournaments, and more).
TC Elite has captured championships at the Manchester MEAC Tournament in Manchester; won a Gold Bracket Tournament Championship in the Adidas Spring Stripes Tournament at the Fieldhouse USA; were runners-up in the 13th Annual GBA Tiger Classic at Wittenberg University; and have competed at Bales Arena in Dayton as well as the RG Academy in Cincinnati.
TC Elite is continuing to look for ways to expand their program and are actively looking for sponsors. TC Elite is a nonprofit organization and has a strong stance of putting the kids first and continuing to allow local ball players to have the opportunity to work on fundamentals, participate, learn and experience travel basketball.
