Lady Lions finish season in district semifinal

The Fairfield Lady Lion volleyball team ended their season Thursday evening at Jackson High School, as they fell in three sets to No. 1 seeded Reedsville in their Division IV SE District Semifinal match in the Jackson 2 bracket.

Fairfield ends the year at 14-6.

Winning scores for their district semifinal match by Reedsville against the No. 4 seeded Lady Lions were 25-13, 25-9 and 25-2.

Reedsville is the OHSVCA No. 9 ranked team in the state.


[[In-content Ad]]Seniors for FHS this season were: Sydney Corzatt, Sirenity Smith, Brenna Simmons, Sydney Corzatt, Makenna Corzatt and Sarah Putnam.

FHS went 1-1 in the postseason, winning a sectional title last week when they defeated Western Latham in five sets at Fairfield's Grandle Gymnasim.

The Lady Lions finished second place in the Southern Hills League this season, one year removed from winning the league title.

Reedsville will play in the district final on Saturday, Oct. 27 at JHS when they face the winner of No. 2 seed Portsmouth Clay or No. 3 Waterford.
