Lead Summary
By
University of the Cumberlands-
For her two performances against the Shawnee State Bears, Kaiti White of the University of the Cumberlands earned Mid-South Conference Pitcher of the Week, announced by conference officials.

White was lethal in the circle, not conceding a run in her 12.1 innings of work. She held opposing batters to a .150 batting average while striking out eight hitters. In each game, the Hillsboro, Ohio native only gave up three hits and walking just two batters.

In her first appearance, White, a former Fairfield Lady Lions standout, went 5.1 innings, facing 19 hitters and only having to deal 68 total pitches. Of the three hits that Shawnee State did muster up against White, just one of them was for extra bases.

White then went to the circle in the third game of the series, pitching all seven innings. This marked the first time all season she had a complete seven-inning game.

Even though Bears had already seen White the day before, she was even more efficient. She faced just 24 hitters, striking out four and only throwing 74 pitches. The sophomore also recorded four assists in the game, staying composed when the ball was hit her way.

The pair of wins gives White a 6-1 record on the season. She has a 1.28 ERA, the lowest average among starters on the team. White has tallied 34 Ks while only giving up eight free passes in 2022.

This marks the first MSC Pitcher of the Week award of White's career She joins Talli Burgess and Meryn Livingston for the other Patriots who have garnered the award this season. With Burgess winning last week, UC becomes the first MSC team to win the award in back-to-back weeks.
