Husted announces Ohio Career Navigator

By
Ohio Lt. Governor's Office, Press Release

Ohio Lt. Governor Jon Husted Tuesday announced the launch of the Ohio Career Navigator, a new tool on OhioMeansJobs.com designed as a one-stop-shop for Ohioans to find resources that will help them obtain in-demand skills, advance their education and achieve their career goals.

The career navigator brings resources from across multiple state agencies into one place, making the process of finding relevant information faster and easier.

“Ohio offers a variety of resources for those on their career or education journey, and it may be difficult for them to navigate if they don’t know where to start,” said Lt. Governor Husted. “Through Career Navigator, accessing the information you need is more personalized and centrally located so you can determine the best pathway for you. Now that the tool has launched, we look forward to collecting feedback from users and further improving on the technology so that it can be an even more helpful resource to Ohioans.”

To get started, users will complete an easy-to-use survey that tailors personalized content and services for their specific needs. This unique approach then connects individuals with comprehensive and up-to-date information from state and external sources, empowering them to make informed decisions for a bright future in Ohio. The tool will continue to be improved upon as Ohioans and state agencies provide feedback.

“Ohio’s diverse economy means there are career opportunities to match anyone’s skills and interests,” said Ohio Department of Job and Family Services Director Matt Damschroder. “The Career Navigator is the newest among a wide variety of resources available at your local OhioMeansJobs Center or OhioMeansJobs.com.”

At OhioMeansJobs.com or a local OhioMeansJobs Center, individuals can find and apply for job openings, take skill and career interest assessments, create or improve résumés, practice interviewing and much more. Through the Ohio Career Navigator and other tools, individuals can access information about in-demand careers and find links to local training programs and scholarships.

Whether someone is a student looking to explore educational opportunities, a professional seeking high-demand skills or someone in search of a career change, Ohio Career Navigator is a great place to start. To take the survey, please visit OhioMeansJobs.com/CareerNavigator.
