On March 7, four Hillsboro Great Oaks FFA members attended the Marysville Spring CDE judging contest at the Union County fairgrounds. Claire Winkle, Camden Stroud and Brayden Cummings participated in the General Livestock section of the contest. They judged Beef Cattle, Sheep, Hogs and Goats. Brayden Cummings placed 70th individually, Claire Winkle was 82nd.

There were 551 FFA members that participated in the General Livestock section. Kenny Shawhan participated in the Agronomy section of the contest. Agronomy members identify plants, seeds, insects and diseases that affect plants. There is also a farm management plan section where members create a plan for what to plant, fertilize, spray and many other aspects of what it takes to raise a crop. Kenny Shawhan placed 31 out of 93 individuals.
