Applications now open for Southern State's Practical Nursing Program
Southern State Community College is now accepting applications for its Practical Nursing (PN) program through October 2026. The one-year program begins in January 2027 and is offered at the College's Central Campus in Hillsboro and the Brown County location in Mt. Orab.
The hands-on program prepares students with the knowledge, clinical skills, and confidence to become Licensed Practical Nurses while providing a strong foundation for continued education through the College's stackable nursing pathway.
Program highlights include:
Fully approved by the Ohio Board of Nursing
Hands-on simulation and clinical experiences
Strong NCLEX-PN pass rates
Stackable pathway to the Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) program
Affordable tuition and financial aid opportunities
According to Southern State’s Director of Nursing Abby Storrs, "Our graduates are entering the workforce with the knowledge, confidence, and hands-on experience employers are looking for. A 100% job placement rate reflects both the dedication of our students and the quality of the education they receive."
Interested students are encouraged to apply early, as space in the program is limited and admission is competitive.
