Clermont County grand jury indicts Norwood man for alleged role in overdose death
Clermont County Sheriff Robert S. Leahy announced Thursday that a Clermont County grand jury has indicted a Norwood, Ohio man on 20 counts related to his alleged involvement in the trafficking of drugs, which led to the death of another.
On Aug. 3, the grand jury indicted Steven Noumoff, 23, on several felonies, including one count of involuntary manslaughter, in connection with a fatal drug overdose that occurred Sept. 10, 2022.
Noumoff has been indicted on the following charges:
• One count of involuntary manslaughter, a felony of the first degree;
• One count of corrupting another with drugs, a felony of the second degree;
• One count of tampering with evidence, a felony of the third degree;
• 13 counts of trafficking in drugs, all felonies of the fourth and fifth degree; and
• Four counts of possession of drugs, all felonies of the fourth and fifth degree.
The overdose incident occurred in Goshen Township, where a 27-year-old was discovered deceased. Despite a prompt response from Goshen Police and Emergency Medical Services, attempts to revive the victim were unsuccessful. A subsequent toxicology report issued by the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office identified “acute fentanyl intoxication” as the cause of death.
The Sheriff’s Narcotics Task Force investigation, which included several search warrants of electronic devices and social media platforms, were able to identify crucial evidence, along with the sequence of events concluding with the fatal overdose, which allegedly resulted from an illegal substance supplied by Noumoff.
Additionally, throughout the investigation, detectives from the Sheriff’s Narcotics Task Force allegedly purchased the following narcotics directly from Noumoff: fentanyl, Xanax, tramadol, heroin, para-fluorofentanyl and marijuana.
