Clermont County GOP: Vote 'no' on Issue 1

To the editor:

The Clermont County Republican Central Committee has voted to endorse a “no” vote on Ohio Issue 1.

Issue 1 is a proposed constitutional amendment which includes phrases such as, “Establish in the Constitution of the State of Ohio an individual right to…abortion” and “Always allow an unborn child to be aborted at any state of pregnancy, regardless of viability….”

Issue 1 makes no provision for parental rights or notification in the event that an underage minor seeks an abortion.

“Issue 1 is dangerous and extreme,” says Charles Tassell, chairman of the Clermont County Republican Party. “A ‘yes’ vote would replace Ohio’s common-sense regulations with a radical pro-abortion agenda. This is not a Republican or a Democrat issue. Killing a child moments before birth is evil. Stripping away parents’ rights is wrong. Vote ‘no’ on issue 1.”

Issue 1 will appear on the Ohio ballot in the election on Nov. 7. The deadline to register to vote is Oct. 10, and early in-person voting begins on Oct. 11 at your local board of elections.

Sincerely,
Kyle Kirker
Clermont County Republican Central Committee
