Whiteoak senior Landen Eyre capped off his high school athletic career with not one, but two state championships Saturday morning at the 2025 OHSAA Division III State Track and Field Championships, winning both the 1600-meter and 3200m races at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium at The Ohio State University.
For the final time, two Highland County track athletes will be competing at the highest level, as both Whiteoak senior Landen Eyre and McClain senior Brenna Wright will take part in the final high school track meet of the season.
Friday evening at Heath High School, Whiteoak's Landen Eyre added to his incredible résumé. The defending state champion in the 3200-meter run, Eyre toed the line in the state's toughest region in the 1600m and the 3200m runs and came away with not one but two regional titles.
There had to be a winner decided on Saturday in the Division VII District Semifinals, as the No. 3 seeded Whiteoak Wildcats and the No. 11 Miller Falcons squared off at Logan High School.
This past Wednesday and Friday, the Whiteoak track teams competed in the Southeast District Division III Track Meet at Oak Hill High School, where several athletes advanced to regionals.
