Scioto County Prosecutor Shane Tieman announced Monday that two Scioto County residents were each given 11-16.5-year prison sentences following a two-day jury trial in the Scioto County Court of Common Pleas concluding on March 7.

Scioto County Sheriff David Thoroughman and Portsmouth Police Chief Debby Brewer announced that a Lucasville woman has been arrested on multiple charges as a result of an ongoing investigation into the death of a baby.

Scioto County Sheriff David Thoroughman states that detectives have continued their investigation of a fatal ATV crash that was reported on March 26.

Ohio Wildlife Officer Tyler Fields, of Pomeroy, has been assigned to Scioto County, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife. Officer Fields replaces Ohio Wildlife Officer Cole Tilton, who transferred to Vinton County last year.

Twenty-four agencies in 21 Ohio counties will receive a total of $579,653.92 from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) to support local marine patrol units.

Scioto County Sheriff David Thoroughman reports that on Sunday, March 26 at approximately 3:45 p.m., his office received multiple 911 calls of an ATV crash at Doctor Singleton Park in West Portsmouth.
