    CHILLICOTHE -While maintenance crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation do their best to keep highways free of litter, volunteer groups across the state are helping keep Ohio’s roads clean through ODOT’s Adopt-A-Highway program.
  • New Vienna Community Church to celebrate second anniversary
    The New Vienna Community Church will celebrate its 2nd anniversary with activities beginning this Sunday, April 18. Morning worship will begin at 10:30 a.m. with a rededication of its ministry to the New Vienna Community and the surrounding two-county area. Refreshments will follow the worship service. A memory book has been completed of its first two years of ministry.
  • Waw-wil-a-way celebrates 115 years
    Waw-wil-a-way Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution met Saturday,  March 6 at the VFW Hall to celebrate its 115th anniversary. Luncheon was served to 64 members and guests from several chapters of the surrounding area. 
  • Hillsboro Emblem Club holds April meeting
    The Hillsboro Emblem Club met on Tuesday, April 13 at the Elks Lodge.  Thirteen members were present.  Communications received by the Club included a call to the 69th Annual Ohio State Association of Emblem Clubs and the West Virginia Club Convention.  It will be held in Upper Sandusky, Ohio on June 11, 12 and 13th.  Several Clubs from Ohio sent invitations to their annual installations, where Supreme President Melody Cathey will be performing the installations.  A donation will be sent to the American Heart Association in memory of Past State President Elinor Cornelius’s son Kenny Hilliard.

    The Highland County Women's Hall of Fame committee is seeking nominations of outstanding women for induction into the Hall of Fame. The deadline for submission of nominations is June 1.
