Ken Knipp, PhD, BCPS, a pharmacist and pharmacy clinical coordinator at Adena Health System, will be the guest speaker at the second meeting of the Adena Heart Failure Group. The group will meet from 6 to 7:30 p.m. July 5 in the PACCAR Medical Education Center, on the campus of Adena Medical Center, in Chillicothe. Knipp will talk about heart failure medications.

The Pricetown Partners 4-H Club held a meeting on June 15 at the Lynchburg Clay High School from 7-8 p.m.. There were 17 members and 7 guests present.

It is fairly obvious that most farmers and gardeners have grown frustrated with our weather pattern over the past six weeks or so. This area has received an excessive amount of rain since the first of May and hasn’t shown much signs of letting up. I have heard many folks say that they wished it would quit raining.  You have heard the phrase “Be careful what you ask for.”

    One bad fall can mean a lengthy hospital stay, painful rehabilitation, a loss of independent life, or worse. The good news is that there are things you can learn to lower the risk of falling, either for yourself or someone you care for. The conditions that affect many seniors can also increase your risk of falling. Since physical changes and many conditions are a part of aging, it’s not always possible to remove these blocks from your risk tower. Learning how these medical conditions lead to falls is the first step toward understanding the risks.

The sixth annual Good Shepherd Gathering will will take place this Sunday evening, June 27 at 6:30 p.m. Come and enjoy an evening of Gospel Music you will not soon forget! The groups performing will be The Ball Family, The Southern Aires, Perfect peace and Kindred Spirit. Each group will sing a few numbers and then join as a choir to sing some of the old favorite of the church.

We continue to "Make a Splash" with our summer reading program here at the Leesburg Library.

Maggie is a 10-year volunteer who just chalked up 2,000 volunteer hours. She is a volunteer who has been committed to the mission of caring through her service to HDH as a volunteer. Maggie currently volunteers in the Gift Shop, displaying merchandise, assisting customers with selection, and sales.

It’s been two summers since Tony Copper lent his genius to the stage at Magic Waters with an original Murder Mystery. His new  murder mystery with the incredibly long title of “Sherlock Holmes’ American Cousin in the Adventure of the Walking Corpse,” opened the weekend of June 18 and will continue with performances on June 25, 26, 27, and July 9, 10 and 11.
