The president of The Ohio State University, Gordon Gee, will visit a Highland County farm July 22, to discuss with area residents and officials the ongoing issues in agriculture. Gee will visit the Ken and Christa Davis farm, near Leesburg, and will participate in a dialogue on Ohio agriculture and the Ohio State University.

Former southern Ohio congressman and U.S. Senate candidate Rob Portman, R-Terrace Park, is scheduled for surgery July 13 after an accident Sunday in Wyoming. Portman, 54, reportedly fractured his collarbone Sunday in a fall from a bicycle wreck near Jackson Hole, Wyo. He was riding with his teenage son, Will.
