Greenfield woman indicted in death of infant

A Greenfield woman has been indicted on charges relating to the death of her infant daughter. Jessica Miller, of Greenfield, was indicted Tuesday by a grand jury in Highland County Common Pleas Court on one charge of involuntary manslaughter and one charge of child endangering.

Hillsboro man drowns at Rocky Fork Lake UPDATED

An 18-year-old Hillsboro man drowned Tuesday afternoon while swimming in a "non-designated" area in Rocky Fork Lake State Park.
Christopher Whiting had recently graduated from Hillsboro High School, and Laurel Oaks Career Development Campus with a certificate in auto mechanics, according to reports.

The Greenfield Police Department and the Highland County Sheriff's Office were called to the Greenfield Cemetery Tuesday afternoon after construction crews, who were working to tear down a crumbling mausoleum, encountered a casket that had not been recorded by the city.

Boatman told The Highland County Press on Monday that he submitted his resignation this week because he needed to concentrate on work, and that his responsibilities with the board were beginning to take time away from that.

The St. Mary Catholic School/Joe Penn Scholarship Golf Tournament was held on June 4 at the Hillsboro Elks Club. The tournament raised $7,000. The money will provide scholarships for students needing financial assistance with their tuition.
