Southern State Community College and Shawnee State University have announced the beginning of a unique education partnership. Beginning as early as fall quarter 2010, students will be able to enroll in Shawnee State University’s bachelor-level teacher preparation program and complete most of their coursework at Southern State’s South Campus in Fincastle. Shawnee State University plans to initially offer two bachelor’s degree tracks at Southern State – early childhood education and intervention specialist (special education), with the possibility of adding a middle/high school math/science track.
