The sectional champion Whiteoak Lady Wildcats had their season ended in three games on Wednesday night, falling to Eastern Meigs in a Division IV SE District Semifinal match at Jackson High School.
The Fairfield Lions boys cross-country team won their Division II SE District (District I) championship, while the Hillsboro Indians boys placed fourth in their Division II, District II meet to reach the regional tournament next weekend.
The third time around was the "charm" for the Whiteoak Lady Wildcats on Thursday night, winning a very close five-game match against Highland County rival Fairfield for a sectional title.
