Williamsburg couple indicted for endangering children, other felonies after toddler suffers apparent overdose

On Aug. 17, a Clermont County grand jury returned an indictment on Samantha Green, 31, and Casey Crisp, 28, of Williamsburg.

They were indicted on the following counts:

• One count of endangering children, a felony of the third degree;

• One count of tampering with evidence, a felony of the third degree; and

• One count of possession of a fentanyl-related compound, a felony of the fifth degree.

On Saturday, Aug. 12 at 9:33 a.m., the Clermont County Communications Center received a 911 call from Green, reporting that a 2-year-old was unresponsive. Williamsburg Police and EMS immediately responded to the scene, where medical intervention was conducted, and the child was transported to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital by Williamsburg EMS. After being evaluated at Children’s Hospital, medical staff had to administer Narcan and admitted the child for further care.

The Clermont County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Unit was requested to assist Williamsburg Police Department with the incident. Detectives from the Sheriff’s Office respond to the home where the incident allegedly occurred and subsequently executed a search warrant. Detectives located evidence inside the residence allegedly consistent with the use of narcotics.

Green was interviewed by detectives and allegedly admitted to recent drug usage inside the home with Crisp. Green allegedly confirmed that her recent drug usage was directly related to the child’s medical emergency, causing the child to be treated for an apparent overdose.

Clermont County Child Protective Services was notified of the incident and advised that the child was being admitted to Children’s Hospital for further treatment. The child’s condition has improved, and the child remains in stable condition.
