A Highland County grand jury handed down 32 indictments, including four unrelated cases involved second-degree felony assault charges, in their Tuesday, Sept. 12 session.
The Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) announced last week that Navy Seaman 1st Class James R. Ward, 20, of Springfield, Ohio, killed during World War II, and posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor, was accounted for on Aug. 19, 2021.
Over 280 members of the Ohio Army National Guard’s Headquarters and Special Troops Battalion, 371st Sustainment Brigade, and the 137th Signal Company, both located in Springfield, are deploying in support of U.S. Central Command.
