The Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) announced their Cross-Country Awards last Thursday, and Wilmington College saw their first-ever sweep of Women's Runner and Men's Runner of the Year awards, being awarded to Faith Duncan and Noah Tobin.
Duncan (Lebanon, Ohio/Lebanon HS) adds to her already bursting chest of accolades with the OAC Women's Runner of the Year, following her announcement as the USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Year.
Duncan won all eight races she competed in this campaign, including the OAC Championship, NCAA Great Lakes Region and the National Championship. Duncan was also named to the All-OAC and All-Region First Teams this year.
Tobin (St. Mary’s Ohio/Memorial HS) won the OAC Championship and placed third at the Great Lakes Region and 56th at the National Championship and garnered First Team All-OAC and All-Region honors.
Duncan becomes the first-ever Quaker woman to win Runner of the Year, and Tobin becomes the second Quaker man to ever win, following Simon Heys last season.
This instance is the fourth time in Ohio Athletic Conference history that a school has swept Runner of the Year since the award was implemented in 1999, most recently happening in 2014 by Mount Union's Alex Wilson and Catie Campbell.
