Four Highland County football players have made the 2025 OPSMA All-Ohio list for Division III and Division IV.

The Ohio Prep Sports Media Association list includes Hillsboro in the Division III honorable mention list with three players as they were senior Mason Dumpert (quarterback), junior Collin Swackhamer (linebacker), and senior Zack Brown (defensive back). The trio were a part of the Indians qualifying for the Division III football playoffs this past season.

McClain had one player selected to the Division IV honorable mention list, that being sophomore Hudson Lovett (quarterback).

Dumpert was a four-year varsity player for the Indians where during his senior season, the 6-1 quarterback (and defensive back) led the Indians in rushing with 588 yards, plus he passed for 467 yards, and he had three touchdowns this past season. Dumpert was a team captain for the Indians. Defensively, Dumpert totaled 15 tackles and one interception.

Swackhamer played outside linebacker (and running back) his junior season where the 6-1 player rushed for 447 yards, but defensively he ended the season (eight games due to injury) with 64 tackles and two interceptions. Swackhamer was also a team captain.

Brown, a 6-1 senior team captain, played receiver and safety for Hillsboro. On offense, he rushed for 141 yards and had 116 yards receiving. On defense, Brown totaled 34 tackles and had two interceptions. Brown also missed games with an injury.

“It's great to see that Collin, Mason, and Zack were able to get that honor,” HHS head coach Nathan Horne said. “They are all hard workers, and I was glad to see them be recognized. They were a huge part of our success this year.”

Lovett for the McClain Tigers was an honorable mention selection in Division IV for his play as the Tigers’ sophomore quarterback.

Lovett started all 10 games for the Tigers where he passed for 1,440 yards and 15 touchdowns. Lovett also rushed for 839 yards with 11 rushing scores, including five rushing touchdowns in Week 3 against Paint Valley. The 6-2 quarterback is a second-year varsity starter.

“Hudson earned his All-Ohio Honorable Mention as he grew tremendously this year and became the go-to guy in our offense,” McClain head coach Keith Penwell said. “With over 2,200 total yards (over 1,400 yards passing and over 800 yards on the ground), he showed how dangerous he can be in both phases of the game.

“What really makes Hudson special is his leadership — he works year-round, he leads by example, he pushes himself in the weight room, and he’s the guy everyone looks to when the game is on the line.”
