Lynchburg-Clay wins Hillsboro Invitational; McClain 2nd, Hillsboro 3rd place

The Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs boys golf team won the 2025 Hillsboro Invitational on Friday, Aug. 8 at the Hillsboro Elks in a six-team event.
The event saw the Mustangs win with a score of 319, followed by the McClain Tigers in second place at 332, and Hillsboro was third place at 340.
Fourth through sixth places were North Adams in fourth place at 393, Eastern Brown at 411 in fifth place, and the sixth place team was Paint Valley with a score of 462.
For the Mustangs, the top golfer in the entire event for medalist was sophomore Nolan Wilkin with a score of 74 in the 18-hole event.
McClain’s Connor Chandler, a sophomore, was was second at 75, and Lynchburg-Clay junior Aiden Bene was third with a score of 78.
Hillsboro junior Charlie Starks was fourth place at 79, and rounding out the Top 5 was McClain junior Carter Nelson at 81.
Other scores for the champion Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs were: Kristian Beachey (6th, 82), Jackson West (9th, 85), Austin Manning (13th, 90), and Tanner Roberts (14th, 91),
The remaining scores for McClain included: Carson Chandler (10th, 87), Noah Switzer (12th, 89), Logan Knisley (19th, 100), and Matthew Cummins (31st, 115),
Hillsboro's remaining scores were: Conner Kelch (6th, 82), Walker Pence (10th, 87), Hunter Seeling (15th, 92), Logan Barton (16th, 94), and Kyle Thoroman (17th, 98).
