McClain senior Brenna Wright will be remembered as a very successful member of the Lady Tigers track and field program, as she completed her career with a race Friday at the 2025 Division II OHSAA State Track and Field Championships at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium in Columbus on the campus of The Ohio State University.

Wright qualified for the state championships three different years, as she competed her sophomore and senior seasons on the biggest stage of high school track and field.

In ’25 on Friday (June 6), Wright raced in the 300-meter race prelims in Heat 2, where in the heat race she finished in seventh place with a time of 47.6. In the overall standings, Wright was 15th place.

As for the state champion in the race on Saturday, the winner of the race was senior Ariannah Floyd of Firelands with a time of 42.76.

This postseason in the Division II Regional Championships, Wright had a time of 45.44 for third place. That finish was also a new personal-best time and new school record by Wright, according to McClain High School.

Also this season, Wright was a Frontier Athletic Conference champion in the 300m hurdles with a time of 46.00, and she was the champion of the Southeast District in the 300m hurdles event with a championship time of 46.28.

Wright has qualified at the state level previously, being a state qualifier as a junior in the 4x100m relay, 4x400m relay and the 100m hurdles. Wright also competed at the state meet as a sophomore in both the 100m hurdles and the 4x100m relay events.
