Homeland Credit Union donates $25,000 to support new Mighty Children's Museum exhibit
CHILLICOTHE – Homeland Credit Union is proud to announce a $25,000 donation to the Mighty Children's Museum to support the creation of a new interactive train table exhibit designed to engage children through play while introducing foundational financial education concepts.
The new train table will replace a beloved exhibit that has served museum visitors for many years but has experienced significant wear and tear. The updated exhibit will be fully accessible, ensuring children of all abilities, including those using wheelchairs, can enjoy the experience.
In addition to encouraging imaginative play, the new exhibit will feature a financial education component that allows children to learn basic money management concepts as they navigate different elements of the train table. The exhibit is expected to open in 2027.
The donation reflects a long-standing partnership between Homeland Credit Union and the Mighty Children's Museum that dates back to the museum's opening in 2017. For years, the organizations have worked together to provide educational opportunities and memorable experiences for area families.
"The Mighty Children's Museum provides a unique space where children can learn through exploration and play, and we're honored to help bring this new exhibit to life," said Shayne Poe, CEO of Homeland Credit Union. "The train table's financial literacy features align perfectly with our commitment to helping people build strong financial futures. We're also looking forward to extending that learning beyond the exhibit through financial wellness classes for the community beginning in early 2027, with free childcare available through the museum for class participants."
That partnership is also reflected in Homeland's Mighty Saver Program, which encourages young members to develop healthy savings habits. As part of the program, participants can earn a free pass to the Mighty Children's Museum as they reach savings milestones, reinforcing the connection between learning, exploration, and financial responsibility.
The $25,000 contribution will help bring the exhibit from concept to reality and further strengthen both organizations' shared commitment to education, community enrichment, and inspiring the next generation.
