Whether you’re talking about flags or construction materials, American tax dollars should go toward American-made products that support American jobs, period. We need to produce the symbol of our country in a way that supports American workers and American manufacturers.

Jesus uses the simple story of a sower to teach us about our behavior. Behavior is how we act toward others. How we behave is based on two things: thoughts and feelings. How you think influences how you feel which determines how you act. 

Someone once asked Margaret Mead, the famous anthropologist, when civilization started. She responded with an event, not a time. She referenced the discovery of one of our ancient ancestors whose bones showed a fractured femur that had been set and healed. Her reasoning was that this is the first evidence of one human being caring for another, hence the beginning of civilization.  

Biden’s energy policies are needlessly weakening the U.S. and strengthening China. Since the 1970s, with the help of its innovative energy industry, America has won independence from OPEC. It makes no sense to implement policies that weaken our economy while once again putting our access to energy at the mercy of a hostile and even more dangerous adversary.

The old tree might not have withstood the rain and the wind, but it had certainly withstood the once-upon-a-time city folks’ undying appreciation. 

The fact is the global threat environment we face is only growing more dangerous. That’s why as a senior member of the Armed Services Committee, I led multiple NDAA provisions that will tackle national security challenges head on.

Senate Republicans stand united in our solutions to get tough on China. We must prioritize U.S. military strength, diversify the supply chain, ban China from purchasing U.S. farmland – especially near secure locations, and close the border to stop the flow of deadly fentanyl.

Why have customers seemingly become a nuisance to many businesses? Some of their employees are projecting an arrogant attitude of “Excuse me, but you are bothering me.”

Nothing about HB 6 was above board from the beginning — and everybody knew it. Those intimately engaged in shepherding the bill through the legislature were well aware of the aggressive efforts the utility giant and its affiliates were leveraging to win passage of HB 6. The measure was custom-made for one company angling for government handouts to prop up two old, uncompetitive nuke plants. 

America, like any country, certainly faces many challenges, such as inflation and rising crime rates. But if we remain true to the ideals and principles that made us the country we are today, I have no doubt in my mind that we can overcome them. The United States is the greatest country in the world due to the underlying principles of freedom and equality that have led to its success.

A health event, or something in another indictment, could blunt Trump’s path to the nomination, but no candidate forum will do the job. On Aug. 23 a Republican not named Trump can “win” the debate, or even the following one, but neither night can make this a different race.

Ours is a country whose citizens still believe, overwhelmingly, in the ideals of the Declaration of Independence, the document that gave birth to the Fourth of July celebration. Our is still a country that, despite efforts to divide us, still strives to achieve its national motto, “Out of many, one.”

With Memorial Day and July 4 behind us, America and our vibrant beer industry are now firmly in the summer selling season, which falls between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
