Results of OVI checkpoint conducted by OSHP Batavia

PIERCE TOWNSHIP – The Batavia Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol conducted an OVI checkpoint on state Route 125, at milepost 3, in Pierce Township, Clermont County.

The checkpoint occurred on July 31, 2026, from 10 p.m. to midnight.

A total of 400 vehicles were checked, two of which were diverted for suspicion of OVI.

The driver of each of those vehicles was determined not to be impaired. A saturation patrol of the surrounding area, conducted in conjunction with the checkpoint, resulted in one impaired motorist being arrested and charged with OVI.

The Batavia Post was assisted with the checkpoint by the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office, the Pierce Township Police Department, and the Ohio Department of Transportation.

Federal grant money supported the OVI checkpoint and saturation patrol.
