2 charged with felonious assault, child endangering; Highland County grand jury hands down 15 indictments
Two Hillsboro residents accused of causing “serious physical harm” to an infant were among the 15 individuals indicted by a Highland County grand jury in their Tuesday, Aug. 5 session.
William Marshall, 26, and Elishia Marie Current, also 26, were jointly charged with one count of felonious assault, a second-degree felony; and two charges of endangering children, one second-degree and one third-degree felony.
The indictment accuses Marshall and Current of “knowingly causing physical harm” to a newborn during an approximate one-month period earlier this year. The second-degree felony child endangering charge alleges that they “abused [the child], resulting in serious physical harm.” The other child endangering charge accuses them of “creating a substantial risk to the health or safety of [the victim] by violating a duty of care, protection or support, resulting in serious physical harm to [the victim].”
