I will note that the Council has a Republican majority and the most recent revision to Revised Code section 731.06 was approved by vote of a Republican state representative in 1970. So I would think a majority of council would approve such an action, if not exactly this plan. If you prefer another plan that gives a smilar degree of representation to the residents of each ward, you have my best wishes.

I strongly encourage all citizens to consider the words and behavior of the two mayoral candidates to make this important judgment: talk to them personally, research them on the Internet, particularly YouTube, and consider the events that have transpired during this campaign. Folks, there is a greater good than power and popularity. There is a greater good than bragging rights for the next four years. There is a greater good than political favors. There is a greater good than political party!

While the American public is finally waking up to what a third of a century of Reaganomics has accrued and is finally demanding a piece of the prosperity that the top 1% has enjoyed since 1980, every Republican candidate has put forth a plan to further lower the tax rate of the rich. Perhaps it is time they stop listening to Rush Limbaugh and the Tea Party and start listening to the majority of the American people for a change.

Please vote YES on Issue 2 and keep common sense in our floundering economy. It is a sensible solution to preventing unlimited tax raises to satisfy Big Unions' demands. Everyone is struggling except the union bosses.

Obama has done more to protect this country and build world respect for our country than Bush did in eight years, or the current crop of Republican presidential candidates could ever accomplish.

Above all, become concerned and involved with Greenfield. In the end, you will be glad you did! You may find someone saying to you, “you know, we sure look a lot better around here, thanks to you.” And that will be your payment in full!

It only makes sense that this age limit be increased. In this day and age, many people work into their 70s. Ohio judges that are experienced and competent should have the same opportunity to work for the citizens of Ohio.

It is time that the people of Highland, Fayette, Pike, Pickaway, and Ross counties make the distinction between government and society. It is time that we take our society back from the government to promote “our happiness positively” through our charitable giving, which can only be done by lightening the burdens of taxation with a “No” vote on Nov. 8.

In the past few decades, Americans have gotten totally addicted to credit, thus debt. It has even become a social aspect when people rate themselves by their credit score. In comparison, last year in China, 96% of all new cars were paid for in cash.

Under SB5, paid sick leave and vacation days would be reduced for average public workers. However, members of the Legislature enjoy unlimited paid leave for any reason whatsoever.

If you haven’t made up your mind yet, I urge you to come to the AAUW Candidates Forum on Monday, Oct. 10,  starting at 6 p.m. This longstanding tradition allows for us to get an understanding of the candidates and the issues at hand.
