One week after accepting land bank administrator Jason Johansen’s resignation, the Highland County Land Reutilization Corporation (land bank board) agreed to work with Johansen through the end of the year.

Commissioners announced Johansen’s appointment in July 2023. His resignation was accepted at an emergency meeting May 15, as the land bank board did not hold a regular meeting for the month.

According to Highland County ARPA administrator Nicole Oberrecht, the land bank board had another emergency meeting May 22, where they voted to enter into a professional services agreement with Johansen. Oberrecht said that Johansen will serve “as a consultant to the land bank” until the end of 2026.
