The following is the Hillsboro Police Report for March 23-31.

On March 23, the Hillsboro Police Department investigated a crash in the center of town.   Jayden Hester of Hillsboro was attempting to make a left-hand turn onto East Main Street and turned in front of a northbound vehicle. Roger Howe of Leesburg was traveling northbound on High Street when the collision occurred, causing disabling damage. No injuries were reported.

On March 26, the Department responded to a call of a crash in the 600 block of South High St. Kimberly Beavers of Hillsboro was traveling southbound on South High St and had slowed for traffic when her vehicle was hit from behind.  Destiny Totton of Hillsboro was also traveling southbound and failed to slow in time to avoid the collision. Destiny Totton was cited for assured clear distance ahead and a temporary permit violation. No injuries were reported.

Derrick Osborne of Hillsboro was arrested on an outstanding Clermont County warrant.

Arrests and Citations for March 26 and 27
 
Patricia Gibbs, 52, of Hillsboro was arrested for disorderly conduct.

Deavin Cumberland, 24, of Hillsboro was arrested for failure to appear on a bench warrant.

Shane Rose, 34, of Hillsboro was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device.

On March 28, the Hillsboro Police Department investigated a crash at the intersection of North High and North Street. Abbagayle Kelly of Leesburg was traveling eastbound on North Street and had entered the intersection on a green light when her vehicle was allegedly struck by a northbound vehicle operated by John Rinehart of Hillsboro. The impact with Kelly’s vehicle caused it to strike a third vehicle that was sitting at the light in the southbound lane of North High Street. Rinehart continued through the intersection and veered off the roadway, striking a business sign, before coming to a stop. No injuries were reported. Both the Rinehart and Kelly vehicles received disabling damage and were towed from the scene. The third vehicle operated by David Caldwell of Sardinia received light damage. Rinehart was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device.

On March 30, the Hillsboro Police Department was called to a crash on Harry Sauner Road. Angela Schmitz of Hillsboro was attempting to make a left turn from Harry Sauner Road when she allegedly pulled into the path of a westbound vehicle. Jacob Rhonemus of Lynchburg was traveling west on Harry Sauner and was unable to stop in time to avoid the collision with the Schmitz vehicle. No injuries were reported. Both vehicles received disabling damage and had to be towed from the scene. Angela Schmitz was cited for failure to yield.

Paul Kiber of Lynchburg was cited for failure to file for registration.

William Elkins of Hillsboro was cited for driving under suspension.

Elijah Jones of Peebles was cited for speed.

John Ross of Hillsboro was cited for disorderly conduct.

Deborah Jenkins of New Vienna was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
