The Ohio High School Athletic Association has announced the preliminary divisional breakdowns and regional tournament representation for the 2024-25 winter sports postseason tournaments. 

The Southeast District of the OHSAA released the 2024 baseball tournament brackets Sunday afternoon.

One day after falling to the Hillsboro Indians in Frontier Athletic Conference play, the McClain Tigers returned the favor on their home diamond by defeating the visiting Hillsboro Indians, 9-7 at Mitchell Park Tuesday. 

A new definition and subsequent warning for faking being fouled (flopping) has been added to the NFHS Basketball Rules Book for the 2024-25 season.

Beginning with the 2024-25 season, high school wrestlers will be inbounds with only one point of contact of either wrestler inside or on the boundary line.

The Hillsboro Lady Indians are on a special run in the Frontier Athletic Conference, as they are now undefeated in the conference standings the past four seasons, with the 40th consecutive FAC win coming on Tuesday night in Greenfield, defeating the host McClain Lady Tigers, 11-0.

The McClain Tigers track and field team hosted the annual Bob Bergstrom Invitational on Friday, April 26.

The Hillsboro Indians earned their second win of the 2024 season on the baseball diamond with a home Frontier Athletic Conference victory over the McClain Tigers, 8-3 Monday evening in the first of two conference meetings scheduled for this week.

The OHSAA Board of Directors approved the new divisions and tournament representation last week during its April board meeting, which included the previously announced football divisions and regions.  

The outright 2024 Frontier Athletic Conference championship once again resides in Hillsboro, as the Lady Indians defeated the McClain Lady Tigers, 8-1 at Hillsboro High School to clinch the title with one conference game remaining.

The McClain varsity softball team needed eight innings and a huge walk-off game-winning double by Brie Cummins to defeat a very talented Piketon team, 14-12 Thursday on Daryle Unger Field in Greenfield.
