Greenfield man sentenced to prison for unlawful sexual conduct with a minor

A Greenfield man was sentenced to 17 months in prison this week after pleading guilty to unlawful sexual conduct with a minor.
On Monday, June 5, Charles Walter Pennington, 40, pleaded guilty in Highland County Common Pleas Court to a bill of information charging him with the fourth-degree felony count.
According to the bill of information, it is alleged that during an approximate 10-month span in parts of 2022 and 2023, Pennington “did knowingly engage in sexual conduct” with a victim under the age of 16.
Highland County Common Pleas Court Judge Rocky Coss sentenced Pennington to 17 months in prison, with jail time credit of 45 days. Pennington will be classified as a tier II sex offender, requiring registration every 180 days for 25 years.
