A Greenfield man was sentenced to community control recently after pleading guilty to a third-degree felony charge of failure to comply.

As previously reported, Aaron D. Hunt, 40, of Greenfield was indicted in February by a Highland County grand jury and charged with one count of failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer, a third-degree felony; and aggravated possession of methamphetamine, a fifth-degree felony.

On or about Jan. 15, Hunt was accused of “operating a motor vehicle … so as willfully to elude or flee a police officer after receiving a visible or audible signal from a police officer to bring [his] vehicle to a stop.” It is alleged “the operation of the motor vehicle … caused a substantial risk of serious physical harm to persons or property.”

According to court records, Hunt pleaded guilty to the failure to comply charge April 13, with the possession charge dismissed.

During a hearing May 18, Highland County Common Pleas Court Judge Rocky Coss sentenced Hunt to three years of community control and ordered Hunt’s driver’s license to be suspended for one year. Hunt was also ordered to pay court costs and to complete a recommended treatment program, according to court records.
