Duffie earns gold as member of DMR team at Patriot League Championships

The distance medley relay team of the Lehigh men's track and field team won gold at Bucknell's Gerhard Fieldhouse on Sunday, Feb. 27 at the Patriot League Championships. The relay team made up of Kyle Burke, Brandtson Duffie, Jacob Martinez and Kerem Ayhan finished with a time of 9:59.17.
On Saturday, Feb. 26, Duffie, a junior, was a part of the 4x800 relay team — which also includes first-year Aidan Lynch and juniors Ayhan and Connor Melko — that finished third overall at the Patriot League Championships with a time of 7:37.69.
Duffie, an Earth and Environmental Science major from Wilmington, won a 2019 OHSAA State Track and Field Championship in the 800m run as a senior at Fairfield.
Lehigh finished fourth overall with 65 points at Bucknell over the weekend. Navy swept the Patriot League Championships with the men's team finishing with 264 points and the women's team finishing with 202 points.
The Mountain Hawks concluded the indoor season with some impressive performances, earning points in 11 of the 18 events over the weekend.
The Mountain Hawks will take a break from competing to prepare for the outdoor season. Lehigh will begin its outdoor season on March 18-19 at the UCF Spring Break Invitational in Orlando, Fla.
