Wilmington College hosted the Ohio District 17 Science Day Saturday, March 16 for the ninth consecutive year as 64 high school, middle school and elementary school students presented their research projects.

Area runners are invited to participate in Chatfield’s second annual Solomon’s 5K Fun Run/Walk On Saturday, April 27. Registration for this fast and easy course begins at 7:30 a.m. The run will begin at 8 a.m. and the walk at 8:01 a.m.

Shawnee State University’s annual Celebration of Scholarship, one of the most significant academic events on campus, is celebrating its ninth year this month. Since its inception nine years ago, USEC has sponsored the event. Executive Director Eric Braun, of the SSU Development Foundation credited USEC as critical to the conference’s success.

On Feb. 25, the Hillsboro FFA Chapter showed their appreciation to the Hillsboro High School staff by hosting a teacher brunch. FFA members prepared bacon, eggs, pancakes, toast, and beverages to serve to the staff.

The Hillsboro FFA Chapter hosted the sub-district public speaking contest at Hillsboro High School. The Hillsboro had 10 members represent the FFA Chapter in the contest.

Hillsboro FFA Fruit Sale a success

On Feb. 19, the Hillsboro FFA Chapter celebrated FFA Week by holding a pizza party during lunch. At the pizza party, the FFA Chapter distributed their Fruit Sale incentive prizes. These prizes included a $100 iTunes gift card, a bean bag chair, a Keurig, wireless headphones, and an iPod touch.
