Wildcats suffer tough loss at Ripley

The first half for the Whiteoak Wildcats saw them not get past the double-digit mark, which led to their first conference loss of the season, falling to the Ripley Blue Jays, 45-27 Tuesday.
Whiteoak's Southern Hills Athletic Conference loss at RHS leaves them at 0-1 in the SHAC and 1-2 overall this season.
As for their first half, they led 6-4 after the first quarter, but trailed 17-9 at the half, being outscored 13-3 in the second quarter.
[[In-content Ad]]In the second half things didn't improve much for the visitors, with RHS outscoring the Wildcats, 28-18.
WHS was led in scoring by senior Tyler Williams with eight points, making four two-point baskets.
Kyle Marler and Nick Wardlow each added five points and Tristen Nicely scored four points.
Justin Emery and Brandon Ashbaugh each added two points and Jason Jones scored one.
WHS was 3-of-13 from the free-throw line.
Holton Hamilton led the Blue Jays with 10 points. RHS was 9-of-16 from the free-throw line.
Neither team made a 3-pointer.
The Wildcats will be back in action on Friday as they travel to face the North Adams Green Devils in a SHAC contest.
