The Whiteoak Wildcats scored runs in just one inning, but the good thing was the first inning consisted of eight runs, en route to an 8-0 Southern Hills Athletic Conference win Thursday over the visiting North Adams Green Devils.
WHS moves to 13-5 overall and 10-0 in the SHAC, as they have just three conference games left on the schedule.
"We had an impressive eight-run first inning," WHS head coach Chris Veidt said. "We scored five runs with two outs, which is definitely a trademark of ours.
"Tyler Williams and Kyle Marler getting contact with a man on third base in those situations was big. Tyler (Roberts) and Jason (Jones) had clutch two-out RBI hits."
WHS forced the Green Devils to throw 58 pitches in the first inning.
The Wildcats had five players with one hit, one RBI and one run each in Zach Docter, Gage Carraher, Tyler Williams, Jason Jones and Tyler Roberts.

Jesse Bradds also had a hit, while Jones' hit was a double.
The winning pitcher was Carraher, who pitched six innings. Carraher allowed no runs on two hits and one walk as he struck out 12 batters to improve to 5-0 this season.
Docter pitched one inning of relief as he allowed no runs on one hit and three strikeouts.
"To get off to that type of offensive start like we have the last two games, with our pitching and defense, it really applies pressure to the opposition," Veidt said. "Give North Adams credit, though … defensively, they collected themselves and shut us out the rest of the way.
"That's why they are one of the top teams in this league. Gage and Zach were outstanding on the mound for us, striking out 15 kids. They only allowed two infield hits and a Texas League single."
