MANCHESTER — The Whiteoak Wildcats lost their first Southern Hills League game Tuesday night, falling to the Manchester Greyhounds 75-61 at Manchester High School.
WHS (3-1, 4-5) entered the game with no losses in league play but trailed by seven points after the first quarter by a score of 17-10.
In the second quarter, Manchester (2-0, 6-1) scored 23 points and held the Wildcats to 10 points for the second straight quarter for a half-time lead of 40-20.
The Wildcats increased their scoring in the third frame, scoring 18 points, while their defense held the Greyhounds to 10 points.
Scoring was big in the final quarter with both teams combining 48 points. Manchester led the final quarter 25-23.
Joe Michael led the Wildcats in scoring with 21 points, making 10 shots from the field, along with one free throw.
Luke Taggert scored nine points, followed by Gage Carraher with eight points. Mike Carraher tallied six points.
Doc Seip scored four points and Logan Morris had three points.
Combs led all scorers with 24 points for Manchester. Blevins finished with 19.
