Wildcat baseball falls at Fayetteville

The Whiteoak Wildcats suffered their third consecutive loss of the season Wednesday, falling in a Southern Hills Athletic Conference game to the Fayetteville Rockets, 9-1.

Whiteoak (3-3) scored their lone run in the sixth inning. The RBI in the inning came off the bat of Stephen Anderson.

Fayetteville scored four runs in the bottom of the second, followed with a two-run third. They added another two runs in the fifth, and in the sixth scored their final run of the game.

[[In-content Ad]]Spencer Michael, Nick Wardlow, Steven Meyers, Anderson and Jacob Burns each recorded a hit.

The win for the Rockets went to Boyer.

Tyler Williams (0-2) suffered the loss, allowing eight runs (two earned) on six hits and three walks in five innings pitched. He struck out two batters.

Anderson pitched one inning of relief. He gave up one earned run on two hits.

"I appreciate the passion, energy and leadership brought to the diamond (Wednesday) by Nick Wardlow and Kyle Marler," WHS head coach Chris Veidt said. "It was a step in the right direction as far as the pitching staff is concerned with Tyler Williams and Steven Anderson."

The Wildcats are scheduled to face the Fairfield Lions on Friday, April 11 at WHS in SHAC play.
